Enter your name as you would like it to appear to your recipients when they receive a message from you. Click the Add button and then select E-mail Account.
SETTING UP WINDOWS MAIL FOR GMAIL DOWNLOAD
To download your messages, you must first configure Windows Mail to connect to your email provider’s POP3 server. At this time, email is transferred and saved to your computer and deleted from the server (you can configure your email program to instruct the server to keep copies of your emails). When you have a POP3 account, your messages are stored on your email provider’s server until you check your email (during which, the email client connects to the provider’s server). Many email providers use the POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) Internet protocol to transfer messages to email clients (such as Windows Mail). When you first start Windows Mail, you’ll need to configure it to access your email account from your email service provider’s servers. Click All Programs and choose Windows Mail from the list. To get started, open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button. (You do need Internet access to download the emails.) Windows Mail also helps you organize all of your emails so you can keep better track of your communications. With Windows Mail, you can store all of your messages directly on your computer, so you don’t need Internet access to read or write them. Windows Mail is an application that lets you manage an email account you already have.
